Women’s Sewing Project

zam-sewing-3In 2006, YWAM Lusaka started a sewing class for local women. The main aim of the project is poverty alleviation through empowering the women in the local community in skills training, mainly through sewing and craft making. The project has helped women who have never sewed before to have a sense of achievement and excitement that they can do more. Some women have sold their products to help the family income. Priscilla Banda runs the sewing project and has the vision to see the project expand and for the women to realize their God-given potential. Priscilla’s vision is to see the women excel up to a point that they themselves are able to empower others through employment.
