Lisette Kramer – December

A heart for God, a heart for people and for quality health care.

I am a medical doctor by profession. My heart is to use my profession in missions.

I did my DTS in 2011 in The Netherlands and volunteered at YWAM Mwandege in Tanzania in a YWAM clinic in 2012.

I moved to Zambia in 2016 after completing my specialisation as a general practitioner in The Netherlands. I married my husband Daniel December in 2017 and joined him in the field in Munyama village, in Southern Province where our focus was on ‘church planting’, health care and community development. We reached out in the communities through ‘mobile clinics’ where we shared the hope of the gospel and attended to medical needs under the tree. I also volunteered at the local government clinic as well as in the District Hospital in Siavonga and have learned a lot about health care in Zambia and perceptions and beliefs about health and sickness (worldview) in the past 6 years.

In August 2022, we moved to Lusaka to join the YWAM Lusaka base. I would like to see Hope Clinic opening its doors for the community in the next few months. I believe it’s time to get the clinic registered and start serving the community in the area of health care. I also see ‘Hope Clinic’ serving as a model for others who want to serve God, combining their call and medical profession.
