David Nyirenda

I am David. M. Nyirenda, married to only one beautiful wife Mirriam Nyirenda, and God has blessed us with two boys, Joshua our first  who is 7 years old and Theophilus who is 4 years old.
I did my DTS in 2004 right here at Lusaka west YWAM base. After my DTS, I came back to staff three schools, then there after I joined FMC as a staff. In 2011, I went to do FCD in Morogoro Tanzania. In 2012 to 2013 I went to Kitale to go and do another Agriculture school in Organic farming, after graduation I came back to Zambia and joined a Church called New Beginnings and I was given a Youth Ministry where I am serving as a Youth Pastor and a Church administrator.
In 2021 October, I came back to YWAM and joined as a staff and currently I am in charge of the garden and maintenance. I have a heart for the Muslims and when I was working with Frontier Mission Centre, I started working with the Muslims by Somali original, and I was using soccer/football as a way of reaching to them as well as growing vegetables and spices which are mainly used by the Muslims. My leaders by then Debi and Peter Drypolcher helped me to mobilize the youths football teams from different churches to start playing football with the Muslims. I also developed a very good relationship with them and the project only stopped when I went to Tanzania to do my FCD.

What I have started doing.
1.     The well-watered and organic garden at the base has become very productive again. We don’t buy vegetables at the base now, we have enough for use and for sale.
2.     I have started working with different Churches again to revamp the football matches with the Muslims of Somalian original who are living here in Lusaka.
3.     I would like to work in Churches mobilization too, to help the body of Christ to wake up and venture in the business of sending missionaries abroad to sprayed the gospel of the Kingdom.

The objectives of the three ministries mentioned above.

1.     Agriculture or Organic farming: I want to share the passion of organic farming with the communities surrounding the base and use our well-watered organic garden as a demonstration place. I strongly believe that food and football are two unifying factors which knows no race or religion, and we can also use them as tools of reaching out to the unreached people groups. I pray that one day I will run a farm that will help to restore hope in the hearts of young small scale farmers and God’s name will be glorified.
2.     By doing business of vegetables and playing football with the Muslims, one day Christ will be able to touch their hearts and they will be able to come to the serving knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.
3.     By awakening the body of Christ here in Zambia to start supporting missionaries, many people will be able to be reached, and many young people will be able to GO and be involved in the Great Commission that our Lord Jesus Christ left His body with.

 Prayer points and needs:
1.     Books on organic farming and other necessary materials.
2.     Footballs, two sets of  jerseys and other tools of evangelism towards Muslims are needed for the mobilization to the Muslims and Somalians.
